Most people are not aware that after I was sick, hospitalized and began to recover I started losing my hair. I had no idea what was happening. I knew my body went through trauma, but why was I losing my hair?! By November it started falling out. In December it came out by the handfuls. My scalp hurt, and the top was so sensitive, even moving my hair hurt.
As any person would, I FREAKED out. I went to my doctor and requested labs. He had no clue about my hair loss; shocker. I called a Dermatologist; they couldn’t get me in until January. I said, “Ma’am I’ll be bald by then.” So, I did what I always do, I researched and made connections. Well first I cried, then I dug in.
What I learned is that it is called Telogen Effluvium. What I also learned is this was happening to LOTS of women post-illness. I don’t want to make this post too long. So, I will get to the point. My hair fell out why? I barely ate for 2 weeks, I was hospitalized, my body lost a large amount of muscle mass, my body went into a fight or flight mode and it reacted by shunting what my body needed to my organs and not my hair which also needs nutrients. And the icing….. I had a virus.
I found a great Omega pill, that helped with the inflammation and stopped my hair from falling out. I also took a good supplement with Biotin. My hair stopped falling out but was not regrowing.
I came across a post about a collagen product! I thought what do I have to lose….. more hair? 
I got the product Glow and it kicked my hair regrowth into gear. I knew it was working because my nails started to grow faster, and I felt and saw baby hairs. My bald spots were also covered. I lost about 80% of the BULK of my hair, no joke.
